Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Mr. Bardhyl Dobra, in accordance with the agreement of understanding signed in 2022 with the School of Public Leadership of the University of Stellenbosch of South Africa, the first exchange of experiences in the field of the fight against corruption, especially through action and whistleblower protection.
In this virtual meeting which brought together about 60 officials from our civil service, the Director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, Mr. Yll Buleshkaj, the Director of the Kosovo Institute for Public Administration, Mrs. Lule Isufi, as well as students from South Africa and officials.
On this occasion, Deputy Minister Dobra congratulated the obvious interest shown by all the participants of the civil staff of the public administration of Kosovo. In particular, he expressed his gratitude for the presentation of Mrs. Pusetso Morapedi, Director of the Platform for Whistleblower Protection in South Africa, as well as for the powerful testimony from the personal experience of Ms. Cynthia Stimpel, Executive Director of the House of Whistleblowers. Considering the commitments of these two well-known personalities in the fight against corruption and the echo of their work throughout the South African region, it was truly an honor and a pleasure to present such a valuable experience in Kosovo.
The actions of whistleblowers, whether outside or within the civil service, are of high importance in the right path to the fight against corruption, therefore the Government of Kosovo remains committed to bringing the framework and tools for their protection.
At the end, Deputy Minister Dobra especially thanked Professor Mrs. Pregala Solosh Pillay from the School for Public Leadership for the possibility of the successful realization of this workshop. This was the first step of cooperation between our two countries, which, although located at a great distance, share similar challenges while the willingness to share experiences remains open.
