This visit was carried out within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement signed in June of this year during the visit made by the Deputy Minister Mr. Dobra, Uganda Management Institute.

Dobra greeted and welcomed the delegation from Uganda, informing the attendees that the Kosovo Institute for Public Administration and UMI will now cooperate closely in various fields, in increasing cooperation in the field of education and training in the field of public administration.

The deputy general director IKAP, Mr. Haxhijaj emphasized that after the signing of the cooperation agreement in June of this year, which was also the first step in the beginning of the cooperation between our two institutions, this meeting is the second activity and we are very much in agreement to take the next steps handling ideas and decides on cooperation projects. This cooperation is very important and judging by the nature of the results, we believe that we will contribute to the development of both institutions.

The Director General of Uganda Management Institute (UMI), Dr. James Nkata, thanked those present for the hospitality as well as Deputy Minister Dobra who was the key person for the start of this cooperation, UMI is the state institution that provides education and training for civil servants and the private sector in the field of management, as well as providing consultancy for both the sector public and private in these same fields.

The purpose of the visit is to issue the main projects for the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Public Administration, Governance and capacity building.

Research, participation in Conferences, Joint research project leading to publications an increased understanding between Africa and the Balkans, joint seminars and dialogues, training, exchange of personnel, Joint Programs, consultancy, capacity building and knowledge exchange, support infrastructural e.g. ICT, staff capacity building, were the key topics discussed in this meeting.
