Two-day online training ends September 19-20, 2023
Kosovo Institute for Public Administration Technical Assistance Program with the support of the Luxembourg Government and European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), organized the online training “Strengthening administrative capacities in data protection and cyber security”.
Target group: Civil servants from various institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
Description: In a time of unprecedented challenges posed by ever-evolving technologies and different ways to use personal data, understanding the core principles of data protection is essential.
This requires not only mastery of the General Data Protection Regulation, but also familiarity with practical aspects of ensuring secure processing of personal data and responding to data breaches.
This training focused on the core principles of data protection within the framework of the GDPR.
In addition, topics related to the practical implementation of the GDPR, data responsibilities.
Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the field of data protection, the seminar will also delve into this field of data security, cyber security and new disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence.
Objectives: The training outlined the basics of data protection, including core principles, the EU legal framework, GDPR, data breaches and the role of the DPO, among others, and dive into new developments in cross-border transfer. A solid foundation must be reached in the understanding of data protection at the practical and legislative level.
The training program consisted of a series of presentations that introduced key issues and question and answer periods allowing for group discussion. In addition, the program contained a number of highly interactive sessions (two interactive sessions and one case study) in order to facilitate the learning of the participants and ensure the transfer of professional knowledge and skills.
