The Kosovo Institute for Public Administration (IKAP) and the United Nations Agency for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) today, 23.09.2024, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen joint efforts in the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women in the public administration of Kosovo. This partnership aims to integrate the gender perspective in training for public officials, contributing to the improvement of the performance of public institutions and the advancement of international standards for gender equality.
The field of cooperation will be; IKAP and UN Women have agreed to work together in coordination with the Agency for Gender Equality (AGBJ) and the Development Cooperation Office (ZBZH) of the Prime Minister’s Office, in building the capacities of public administration officials, in support of the implementation of public policies , where gender equality and diversity are ensured at all levels and in all sectors of public administration, as well as in function of improving the work and performance of public institutions, making them more responsive to various public interests. Special focus will be on gender equality and gender integration, to increase the quality of services provided in accordance with EU and international standards.
This agreement represents an important step towards building strong capacities for the promotion of gender equality in Kosovo and efforts to ensure a public administration that respects and represents the needs of all citizens, regardless of gender.
