Meeting with the Representative of the International Organization of Francophonie

On August 13, 2024, the acting Director of the Institute for Public Administration, Ms. Lule Isufi, met with the representative of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) for Central and Eastern Europe, Mr. Eric Pope. This meeting marks Mr. Pope’s first visit to Kosovo following the application of the Republic of Kosovo for membership in this important international organization.
During the meeting, Ms. Isufi informed Mr. Pope about the planning of French language training courses and the implementation of the agreement signed between the Kosovo Institute for Public Administration and the Francophone Institute of Administration and Management (AUF – Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie). Under this agreement, KIPA plans to organize training for 45 diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora (MFA), a number that is hoped to increase. This year, it is planned to have two groups for the A2 level and one group for the B1 level.
Mr. Pope was also informed about the requests from civil servants for learning French, where KIPA, based on these requests, will offer courses at the beginner level A1. Additionally, in collaboration with the University of Prishtina, curricula for learning French will be developed, and within this initiative, cultural sessions on Francophone culture will be provided. Mr. Pope promised that these initiatives would be supported by the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF).
This meeting and the commitments undertaken are a testament to the dedication of KIPA and other institutions to strengthen the capacities of public administration and to improve French language skills in the Republic of Kosovo.
