Conference “Platform for Francophonie, multilingualism and cooperation in Europe”
October 16 to 18, 2023 in Sofia, Bulgaria, by the University Agency for Francophonie and under the patronage of the Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Conference “Platform for Francophonie, Multilingualism and Cooperation in Europe” was organized in this event and the Republic of Kosovo as associate member in francophone, at the conference we were represented by the General Director of the Kosovo Institute for Public Administration, Mrs. Lule Isufi.
This event aims to protect Francophonie and multilingualism as a means to promote cooperation in Europe through education and training.
On the first day, the political panel was made up of high officials and personalities, the Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, the former European Commissioner Minister-President of the Government of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, Ministers and Permanent Representatives of the EU Member States, Delegates to ‘La Francofonie’ from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs) that addressed the challenges of national and European public action, specifically the integration of ecological and digital transitions, the modern challenges of human resource management public and public innovation. Multilingualism within the national, European and international public service was also discussed.
Representing the Institute for Public Administration, Ms. Isufi gave a speech at the political panel, the speech was about the progress of the Republic of Kosovo first as an observer member of the International Organization of Francophonie (ONF) and later as an associate member, as a very important organization of states and governments that share French and Francophone culture in common, presenting the contribution that IKAP has made in increasing the use of the French language within the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, and in advancing the common values of Francophone, such as peace , solidarity, multilingualism and multiculturalism, it was also emphasized the participation of the Republic of Kosovo within the framework of Francophonie and the possible advancement of its status with full rights in this organization would enable its participation in important projects and activities this organization and the promotion of ONF values. Mrs. Isufi also had meetings with various personalities during these days where it was discussed about the exchange of experiences and other possibilities of cooperation with various institutions and agencies participating with IKAP.
In the second part of the conference of specialists in the field aimed at revitalizing multilingualism within Europe in institutions and throughout Europe, IKAP participated in the working groups for multilingualism, clarifying the legal system and respect for the languages of the communities in Kosovo, while in the part of third, a seminar was organized for European youth on the topic “Energy and Climate: Environmental challenges in higher education in the context of Europe.
The Agence Universitaire pour la Francophonie (AUF) brings together more than 1,000 universities, major schools, university networks and scientific research centers that use the French language in 115 countries. Established 60 years ago, it is one of the largest associations of higher education and research institutions in the world. He is also the operator for higher education and scientific research of the Sommet de la Francofonie. As such, it implements, within its area of competence, the resolutions adopted by the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the countries that share the French language.
